BRIEF

The Hawaiʻi Immigration & Inclusion Conference (HIIC) is a statewide gathering set for September 30, 2026 in Honolulu — a day for organizations across every sector to strengthen the islands' commitment to immigrant inclusion, equity, and belonging. The conference needed an identity and a landing page before registration opened: something warm and credible that could carry a serious civic mission while still feeling like an invitation.

The mark had to do double duty — dignified enough for institutional partners and sponsors, simple enough to live on a lanyard, a tote, or a single social tile without losing itself.

Deep plum purple anchors the system — steady, institutional, calm. Gold carries the warmth: it's the sun, and it's the two dots over the "ii" that turn the letters into people. The lighter orchid and purple tints open up room for backgrounds, patterns, and accessible text contrast across print and screen.

PROCESS & DELIVERABLES

The idea in the mark. The wordmark hides its meaning in plain sight: the two lowercase "ii" read as two people standing together, and the gold dots above them double as suns — Hawaiʻi's light, and the optimism of people included. It's the kind of logo you can explain in one sentence and never un-see, which is exactly what a membership-and-merch identity needs.

Built to be used, not just admired. The system ships as a full kit — primary lockup, standalone mark, reversed and monochrome versions, and on-color locks for purple, gold, plum, orchid, cream, black, and white — so whoever picks it up (a sponsor, a volunteer, a print shop) always has a correct version on hand. Repeating-mark patterns and gold-dot "confetti" fields extend the brand to step-and-repeats, banners, and social without redrawing anything.

Delivered in PNG and SVG, with and without backgrounds. PNGs for fast, drop-in use; SVGs because they're vector — they scale to a tote bag or a stage banner with zero loss, and a printer can recolor them cleanly. Transparent versions sit on photography; on-color versions guarantee contrast. The full usage rules, spacing, and minimum sizes live in the private brand book delivered to the client.
